How It Started:

I was introduced to Class Afloat thanks to my familly in particuallr, My Aunt, who i admire alot (shes a very adventurous person loves to travel discover and explore new cultures. Every now and then she gives me a call and she never fails to disapoint me. Theres always something new with her. But, she went in this program when she was younger and said that this experience was so much fun that she actually reterned to be a teacher.

I went actually last year, (2021-2022) which is a pretty crazy year, with COVID-19 precautions and all that but we still managed to create an experience during this trip i was faced with many challeneges, we were travelling throughoout contrie to contrie ( i will list the places i have been in the bottom soon). and i made life-long friends where life felt unreal for 9 months. There was alot of discipline alot of learning, watches, needing to wake up at 4:00 AM in the morning for my watch. and learning to cook for students, learning how to backshaft, build a community. But the biggest highlight of the trip for me was visiting the ports alot of ports seemed to have their own fascinating culture and still gave me so much humor and appriciativness that i could travel to all these places we also got to do alot of community building activiies like port-programs where we paint houses, paint murels, build a playground for children, beahc clean up and many other curricular activities.

Where i've Travelled To

Port Experience
Madeira, Portugal From the Actual boat, Our fist port was Madeira, Portugal, this port had the best icecrea, fun activities and a really cool sled that have people pushing down as you get to see the view of the whole island!
La Gomera, Canary Islands This was an interesting one, its an island in the canary islands where alot of german stoners go, i remeber the black sand beach which was beautiful defidently recommend, unless you cant handle nude beaches! haha
Gran Canaria. Canary Islands This was our first most-city like port, it was still an island but it had many buildings and feels like a great city. This one was fun because it was big and gave us more advantes to travell and explore more around the island
Salvagem Islands, porgual Ok, so we were supposed to go to Morrocco but because of COVID-19 it got cancelled so we turned the boat around and went to tis almost-stranded island, this island only had 3 people living there, a scientist, researcher and the guy that orders the food for them that comes like idk once a month. this port was special because no one in the world could ever go there excpet for us we did clift jumping and travelled in this big "rock" lol
Cabo Verde We've finally reached down and visted Africa. This place had so many creatures, like turtles, starfishes and many different kinds of fish!
Grenada Covid was hitting pretty hard during this time so we were only able to do group visting but it was all fun we got to be in a boat and dance, sing and go around the island. Oh, and we went here after that big atlantic crossing which was 3 weeks. and our first carribean port!
Barbados The most beautiful in my opinion, maybe other would disagree but i loved barbados, there was always something to do and you would never get bored, try new food, like special coconut that they had which was amaizing. The beaches were super light blue and did snorkeling!
Dominican Republic One of my favourite ports because we really ingaged in community helping, weve got build a playground for kids, paint murels and repaint peoples houses. It also got to get closer to my fellow students with community building and compasion
Bermuda An awesome port but we went in off-travelling season so everything was for us. We loved it because it was the most beautiful place in the world it had amazing creatures, fishes, starfishes and so much more but it was super expensive i almost had to donate a kidney to pay for my lunch
Azores This one was a cool one because i love mountains ALOT and i hicked the whole time during this port. It was amaizing because you got to see the whole island when you climbed all the way up i deffidently recommend this one
Saint-Malo, France This one was so pretty, i love france so much they have amaizing archetecture and got to learn alot about their history and everything!
Finsihed with the boat Finally off the boat but we did a tour of europe at the end we went to switzerland, austria, germany, czech republic, lienchtenstein and netherlands (but i will talk about my trip of Europe another time (perhaps another assignment)
